About This Location

Quivira NWR protects a mosaic of salt marsh, sand prairie, and managed wetlands in central Kansas. Its inland salt marshes are unique habitats that support Snowy Plovers and interior Least Terns, alongside thousands of migrating Sandhill Cranes and waterfowl.
